Lenti RT Activity Kit

High sensitive RT assay optimized for HIV-1, HIV-2, SIV, FIV and Visnavirus retroviruses

Analyze the activity of the enzyme reverse transcriptase (RT) from lentivirus with this kit. It can be used for quantification or screening for any lentivirus (HIV-1, HIV-2, SIV, FIV and Visnavirus) RT activity in cell culture supernatants.

Another application is screening for potential RT-inhibiting substances, either directly toward RT or in viral cell culture. The Lenti RT Activity Kit is not intended for use as a screening test for HIV-1 infection in humans nor is it to be used as a diagnostic test to confirm the presence of HIV-1 infection in humans.

Key Features: based on a highly sensitive, non-radioactive ELISA-technique using 96-well microtitre plate format (2 plates included in the kit)

Sensitivity: 1 to 2000 pg RT/ml

Product usage: PBMC: 200,000 freshly isolated, phytohemagglutinine-stimulated PBMCs were infected with 200 TCID50 of the primary isolate and cultured with human plasma and 200 IU interleukin-2. Control wells were cultured in 10% FBS. All samples were measured in quadruplicates in the same plate and in three different plates. RT was quantified at days 7 and 11 postinfection using the RT activity kit (Cavidi).
